Conversation on the Liberal Arts

This year, the Gaede Institute for the Liberal Arts invites Westmont faculty, staff, and students to Conversations on the Liberal Arts at Westmont, a semester of events and discussions exploring the liberal arts at Westmont. Events include talks from esteemed scholars, reading groups, and interviews and panel discussions with faculty, staff, and alumni about how liberal arts education is making a difference to our work, our faith, our whole lives.

Liberal Arts Ambassadors

Too few young people are aware of what a liberal arts education can offer, especially those from underserved backgrounds. The Gaede Institute created the Liberal Arts Ambassadors program to address this critical need.

Lectures and Discussions

The Gaede Institute cosponsors a variety of faculty-organized lecture series: the Pascal Society Lectures, the Erasmus Society Lectures, two annual lectures organized by Westmont's chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honors society, departmental lectures, and its own Reel Talk film discussion series.

Reel Talk

Reel Talk brings together Westmont faculty, staff, and students to discuss important films and contemporary issues. Movie screenings precede discussions facilitated by college faculty and staff.

Trailhead: Seeking God's Call

In an on-campus summer residency and yearlong mentorship, join a community of scholars, pastors, and other professionals in exploring God's call to a meaningful life.

A Conversation on Youth and Vocation

A Conversation on Youth and Vocation is an annual half-day discussion among pastors, lay leaders, and educators about how we can inspire young people to serve God's kingdom with their whole lives. Please check back soon for information about the 2020-2021 Conversation.
