I feel blessed to be joining Westmont College’s Accelerated BSN program in its inaugural year 2022 as full-time faculty. I started my nursing career as an RN graduate from Moorpark City College in 2007. I went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from University of Phoenix in 2011 and then a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2013 also from University of Phoenix. My nursing career began in the ICU/CCU as the first new grad for Community Memorial Hospital on the same unit in which I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant and Unit Secretary. For the past 11 years, I have been employed at Cottage Hospital in the Medical ICU where I have diligently cared for vulnerable patient populations. I was a clinical instructor for Santa Barbara City College Nursing program and found a love for mentoring and teaching new nurses. I believe delivering nursing care to a person is an honor and teaching future nurses of tomorrow is a way to make an impact on the nursing profession and a blessing. I am certified as a critical care nurse (CCRN), trauma nurse (TCAR), and neuro critical care (ENLS). I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience into the classroom and clinical setting to help shape the next generation of Westmont College nurses.
